Meet Ellen
“Hello, I’m Ellen, a nurse practitioner and the founder of E. Michael Health.
Before becoming an NP, I spent almost three decades as a registered nurse in some of Minnesota and Iowa’s leading healthcare facilities, working across oncology, surgery, infusion therapy, endoscopy, public health, labor and delivery, and the emergency department. That range gave me an unusual view of conventional medicine — what it does exceptionally well, and where it consistently leaves people without answers.
“I saw too many patients cycle through appointments, get told their results were normal, and go home still feeling unwell. That’s what drove me to become a nurse practitioner, so I could order the testing, make the diagnosis, and write the treatment plan myself rather than watching from the sidelines. My passion is helping others find answers and feel well!
Outside the clinic, I’m a wife and the mother of two grown daughters and a son-in-law, plus a devoted dog mom to three lively German Shorthairs. When I’m not working, I love to travel or spend time with good friends.
